Africa
The project will finance the drilling of a well and the construction of a water tower that will be powered by solar panels. The presence of water was confirmed by a study. A small contribution will be requested from water users for maintenance and a committee elected by the population will manage the project. Direct beneficiaries are estimated at about 600 people. This is the 3rd project for this village in a 3-year program.
Cameroon
FACP’s project in Cameroon will install manual water pumps at two primary schools in Dibombari and Sodiko, improving hygiene and reducing waterborne illnesses. It will benefit over 1,300 students and staff, plus 1,000 nearby residents, addressing critical water shortages affecting education and sanitation. The €5,237 budget covers well drilling, pump installation, fencing, and hygiene training. The project is split into two phases: €3,500 for drilling, and €1,700 upon confirmation of water quality. FACP, a respected women’s association, brings strong experience in education and advocacy. Local communities will co-finance and manage the wells, ensuring long-term access and sustainability.
Ghana
The request concerns the installation of toilets in a school to avoid diseases resulting from wild defecation. These contagious diseases (typhoid, diarrhea and cholera) contribute to absenteeism and poor performance. The existing toilet has been abandoned due to snakes. The project will be accompanied by hygiene education.
The project, led by Deladem Support Group in Ghana, aims to empower 30 smallholder women farmers—some living with HIV—through pig and vegetable farming. It introduces a pass-on model where pigs and seeds are distributed in phases to ensure sustainability and cost-effectiveness. A cooperative structure will be formed, combining individual ownership with shared assets to build resilience and income. The total budget is €10,361.94, with € 8,685 requested from eu can aid.
Prime Initiative has requested the funding of a sustainable farming project (WiFi project). The WiFi Project is a climate-smart agricultural initiative designed to empower 500 rural women through sustainable farming, livestock rearing, and organic waste recycling. It integrates solar-powered irrigation, pigsty construction, mushroom and snail farming to improve food security, income generation, and environmental sustainability. The total project’s cost is of 128 000 GHS and the required amount from eu can aid corresponds to 6 500 EUR. The remaining amount is co-funded by HAELLA Stichting (3 000 EUR) in-kind contributions from Prime Initiatives and the local community.
Kenya
The request concerns the construction of a drinking water well for a village of 45 households (about 315 people). Water from an irrigation canal is indeed not safe. It causes diseases in children and adults. The presence of water was attested by a hydrogeological study and a solar pump was installed with a water tower. A small contribution will be requested to cover the maintenance costs. The neighbouring municipalities will also be able to use it, which will bring the number of beneficiaries to about 450 people.
This project will finance the growing of corn and beans for 50 vulnerable women (single mothers, widows, low-income earners) in a village hit by severe poverty and unemployment. Two crops producing 15,000 euros per year are planned in the rented fields that are irrigated.
Tanzania
The construction of 2 additional classes became necessary due to the influx of students in a primary school created by teachers
The poor students’ school fees are covered by the parents of students from rich families.
The Anglican diocese has requested that a well be dug near the village school. It will benefit 3,610 inhabitants, of whom 2,220 are women, who are the main victims of the water shortage. A contribution will be requested to finance the maintenance and operation of the well.
The project involves financing a solar pump system, water reservoir and water points in a remote village. Drilling to test water quality was funded by the Tanzanian Development Trust and carried out in June/July 2025.
Uganda
The purpose of this project is to finance the rearing of chickens for 80 low-income households. The entire production cycle will be covered. There is a lot of market demand for these products.
Asia
India
CARD requested funding for a goat farm in help of poor women for 3 years. The result of years one and two for 90 women being positive, the extension of the project for a third year is justified. A third group of 45 women will receive goats from those given during the previous years
OCD in Tamil Nadu will train 60 young women from coastal fishing communities in seafood processing, shell jewelry, and fishnet knitting.
The program includes leadership and entrepreneurship training, seed capital for group-based ventures, and post-training support with bank linkages for sustainability. Budget: €6,831.52 (€5,928.18 requested from EU Can Aid; remainder by OCD). Expected income: €13–€15/month per participant, with production aligned to local demand and seasonal raw materials.
