It is a matter of purchasing 30 benches for a primary school located in a slum, and constructing a small bridge to allow safe access to the school despite the flooding of the river during the rainy period. The beneficiaries are 360 students. Benches are essential to follow the lessons.

The application is for the construction of a school toilet. Now, students in this school located in a very poor village use the surrounding bushes. This causes illness, absenteeism and particular problems for girls. The equipment will consist of 4 gender units with a cloakroom and hand washing points. Modern technology will be used for rainwater recovery. Maintenance will be provided by a student and teacher club and funded by a vegetable garden and peanut farm.

Flowers of Hope wants to build four classrooms and washrooms. The local community will help with the construction. The project will be managed by the NGO’s self-help group. About 300 people will benefit, the majority of whom are women; many have not had access to secondary education.

The request concerns the financing of a solar installation for an environmentally friendly agricultural training centre, in conjunction with a local association. Technical education trains young people to grow new crops for customers who consume imported products. Production techniques are environmentally friendly and based on agroecology.
Water tank for a primary school

The project consists in installing a water reservoir for an elementary school. It will be fed by rainwater from the roof. The water will be used for human consumption, cooking, sanitation, and vegetable irrigation during the dry season. This reservoir will prevent waterborne diseases because the spring located a few kilometers away is also used by livestock.

This project is a cooperation with eu can aid (EUR 5000), Castricum Muttathara, NL (EUR 5000) and Wilde Ganzen, NL (EUR 5000). Wilde Ganzen will make a lump sum payment of 15,000 to the beneficiary for the addition of a first floor in a sewing centre. This would enable 240 disadvantaged women to be trained per year. The centre welcomes people from families of lepers. This training should enable them to find work in companies in the neighbouring town or to start as self-employed.
Vermicomposting

The project consists in producing and marketing organic fertilizers as vermicomposting. It is aimed at 50 marginalized women, most of whom are widows or single mothers. These fertilizers will improve soil quality and save the cost of chemical fertilizers. Each centre will have a well and will be managed by self-help groups. This project will increase the low income of these women by a third.

Adventure Aid introduced a sewing project for 45 single mothers or young poor women without training. After a training each woman receives a sewing machine and a certificate. This will allow them to earn a higher remuneration than small agricultural jobs.

The project is developed over three years and concerns the financing of a goat farm for poor women. The first year’s results for 45 women are positive, so there is a reason to extend the project for a second year. A second group of 45 women will receive goats from those given in the first year.

The request concerns the funding of goat breeding in support of tribal women. Each woman will receive 20 goats, which should increase her monthly income from 4000 to 7000 rupees. They are part of self-help groups and will be helped by a training centre
Vegetable production

The project aims to increase vegetable production in five tribal villages. In the first year, 50 farmers would be trained in commercial pulse crops, 50 in high value-added market gardening and 100 vegetable gardens would be established in the five villages. Products could be sold in markets close to cities.
Processing Moringa Oleifera leaves

The funding is for processing moringa oleifera leaves. This native tree grows quickly and resists drought. Its leaves are used as vegetables but also as traditional medicinal plants. Each woman would receive seeds. This project is expected to double the income of the 20 women beneficiaries.
